AMB Spa, San Daniele del Friuli, Italy, the only complete end-to-end packaging solutions provider for the food packaging industry announces that it has acquired PTS Verpackungen, Bavaria (Germany). PTS is a leading innovative food packaging sales business.
This is the second AMB acquisition in 12 months and builds on the foundations to become a powerhouse in the market, further strengthening AMB’s customer-centric business approach with a full service 360 customer offering. The two businesses share the same vision to develop and manufacture products that are sustainable in the circular economy.
Bruno Marin, CEO of AMB, said, “The acquisition will help AMB further widen our European footprint to be more local to our clients from the heart of Europe. We want to be on customer doorsteps so we can create one-supplier relationships with them through packaging design, tooling and material supply. We have always had a clear vision to extend our reach, setting our growth strategy in motion last year. Acquiring PTS is the next step in this exciting journey.”
Jan Dietrich, owner of PTS said, “AMB have a clear and unique position in the market through the way that they think, being designed to be different. This resonated with us as innovation and clever thinking within food packaging has always been key to our successes at PTS. This can only be good news for customers. While continuing to serve our existing local and global customer base, we can now offer enhanced capabilities and range.”
Rolf Liebfried, CFO of AMB, said, “A clear strength within PTS that was obvious to us was their ability to build strong and lasting customer relationships, primarily built around trust and knowledge. These are values that underpin the AMB business and meant that we were engaging with a business that easily understood our culture.”
The acquisition further cements AMB’s credentials in being a pan-European leader. Offering complementary, one-stop-shop products and services, from concept design and tooling, product specification, print design and application all with the business.
The combined company will have an extended reach and portfolio breadth of 5 locations across Europe plus a network of international distribution warehouses with 435 employees. With a combined businesses turnover in excess of EUR 160 million.
